Welcome to The Omni-Lateral Driver Education Centre Inc., a local family-owned and operated driving school proudly serving the Ottawa Valley and surrounding parts of Eastern Ontario for over 45 years.

Founder Keith Foster was born and raised in Renfrew, Ontario, and eventually moved to Ottawa where he began a driving school in 1976. Keith researched, developed and implemented the Omni-Lateral system of 360° perceptual awareness, which focuses on the ability to manage pathways safely, filter through traffic and avoid collisions, including rear-end collisions. Omni-Lateral soon became a trusted name in driver education. For example, Keith was hired to teach advanced driving techniques to paramedics enrolled in Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Keith’s life-long purpose has been to help create safer drivers. He decided to carry out this mission in the Ottawa Valley and surrounding area where he eventually settled with his family, and still resides today.

Keith’s passion for educating and training safe drivers is shared by his partner (in life and business) Barb Secker and his son Colin Foster.

Our approach to in-vehicle training is supportive and responsive. We draw on a variety of teaching methodologies tailoring them to students’ backgrounds, skill-levels, comfort-zones, and learning abilities/styles. As a family-run business, we understand the importance of trust and a personal touch. Our team is highly experienced and genuinely cares about the success and safety of each student who walks through our doors. Our dedicated driving instructors are not only provincially licenced but also receive additional intensive training in the Omni-Lateral system.
